How it records a call
MeetingEcho records at the level of macOS: your microphone and what your Mac plays. Nothing is installed in Teams or Zoom, and nobody in the call sees a recorder join. It notices when a call starts and can begin recording by itself or with one click.
- Knows who spoke. Your voice and the other side are recorded separately, so the transcript says who said what, and echo from speakers is removed.
- Transcript and translation, side by side. In your working languages, also when the language changes during the call.
- Notes that know the meeting. Title, attendees and agenda come from your calendar. With your AI provider: summary, decisions and action items.
- Mark the moment. One shortcut marks what matters. Marked moments show in the transcript, the notes and the next brief.
- Slides, with their text. Capture the shared screen with a shortcut. The text on each slide is read on your Mac and placed in the transcript where it was shown.
- Talk time. How much you spoke, how many questions you asked, and who talked over whom.
- Search everything. Find any word in every meeting, in every working language.
- A brief before the next one. A few minutes before a meeting: who is coming, what was decided last time, which action items are open.
Two tracks, so the transcript knows who spoke
In calls, your microphone and the other side are recorded separately, so every line is marked as you or the other side, and echo from your speakers is removed. In-person conversations are recorded with the microphone alone.
Transcripts in your languages
Choose up to four working languages from more than a hundred. MeetingEcho detects which one is spoken, keeps each line in its language, and translates every transcript into another working language, on your Mac.
Notes, slides, marks and the next brief
Mark a moment with a shortcut. Capture a shared slide with another. Meeting notes with the summary, decisions and action items come from the AI provider you set up, if you want one. Before the next meeting with the same people, a brief shows who is coming, what happened last time and the open action items.
Your transcripts are files on your Mac

Questions and answers
Does MeetingEcho work with Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Teams is the main target, including Teams in the browser. Because MeetingEcho records the Mac's audio, Zoom, Webex, Slack, FaceTime and Google Meet in the browser work the same way.
Do the other people see that I am recording?
No recorder joins the call, so nothing appears in the meeting. MeetingEcho reminds you to tell everyone that you are recording; follow your organisation's rules and the law where you are.
Does it work offline?
Recording, transcription, translation, search and notes run on the Mac. The internet is needed only to download a speech model you choose, from Hugging Face, and for the optional AI features you set up yourself.
How accurate is the transcription?
In MeetingEcho's own test, the included Whisper model made no word errors on the German, English and French test sentences; the smaller models trade some accuracy for speed. The speech models page shows the measured numbers.
Can I search across meetings?
Yes, across every recording and in all working languages at once, on the Mac.
Does it work with Microsoft 365 Copilot?
If your organisation uses Microsoft 365, you can ask your Copilot agent a question during the meeting, with the last minutes of the conversation. It is optional and off by default.
